Win
A Wake Contest Winner Will Celebrate the Life of Elvis!
Minneapolis, Minn, November 21, 2002.---
The Brave New Workshop Comedy Theatre and Flanagan's Wake are
pleased to announce that Win A Wake contest winner Jeanne Fluegel
has chosen to celebrate the life of Elvis Presley with 100 of
her closest friends next week. Having won the contest in late
August as part of a Flanagan's Wake summer promotion, Fluegel
used the weeks between to plan her very own bon voyage to the
King of Rock and Roll, Mr. Elvis Presley. Fluegel's
private performance, Irish dinner, and party atmosphere will take
place at the historic Palace Theatre in downtown St. Paul on November
30, 2002 at 1:00pm and is invite-only, making it a rare and unique
event indeed.
Though
not widely known, the Citizens of Grapplin are huge Elvis fans
and have agreed to attend the Fluegel-sponsored Presley wake.
They will assist in recounting the events of Elvis's life (and
death) through music, dance, and storytelling. Destined to be
the only Irish wake Elvis is sure to have any time soon, Fluegel
and the Grapplin citizens are planning a hip-shakin' good time.
In
referring to her lucky winnings, Fluegel noted that she and her
sister had worked last summer to bring a group to Flanagan's
Wake and it was her job to organize the event. Since she had
made the reservation, her name was entered into the drawing. "This
time, being the organizer really paid off," she added.
"Win
A Wake" was part of a special summer promotion for Flanagan's
Wake that entered anyone who reserved tickets into a drawing to
win an all-expenses paid, customized "wake" to honor a person
chosen by the winner. The "wake" includes dinner and custom show
for up to 100 guests.
Though
eagerly looking forward to the upcoming Presley wake, regular
performances of Flanagan's Wake take place Thursdays and
Fridays at 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 5:00 p.m. and
include an authentic Irish dinner. For more information and to
