The Brave New Workshop, America’s longest running satirical comedy theatre, is seeking a Sales Manager for our suite of Event Engagement services, including Venue Rentals, Emcee Services, Video, Live Messaging, and Entertainment products and services. This is an outstanding opportunity for an independent, outgoing individual with an entrepreneurial spirit, desire and ability to build relationships, and high levels of creativity to work at a fun, innovative organization.
The Event Services Sales Manager is a full time salaried position with commissions, consisting of responsibilities as described below:
• Prospects and qualifies leads for entertainment and event opportunities and brings them through the sales funnel to a close.
• Builds and maintains relationships in an “Account Manager” style engagement with key contacts in the industry.
• Works with Marketing Director to engage in targeted marketing efforts reaching agreed upon audiences such as event planner groups, C-suite executives, and current and former customers.
• Works with Event Manager and event/project management team to ensure a successful handoff /execution once the sale is closed.
• Prepares sales plans for key accounts, reviews them with team and executes them.
• Finds and implements innovative ways to package and sell our entire suite of services (ie bundles, points systems, multi event contracts, and more)
• Provides periodic feedback to rest of the team regarding sales pipeline.
• Differentiates among leads and potential opportunities for fit with our products and services
• Maintains knowledge of the industry and leading competitors; researches events/conferences/organizations to explore.
• Prepares proposals for new business (with input from the rest of the team), contracts, and invoices with thorough attention to detail.

The Event Services Sales Manager should have the following skills and qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate to all levels of organizations; confidence in interactions with VP-level executives and above.
• Excellent organization and time management skills, including the ability to manage and execute on full sales funnel activities from prospecting to follow ups after events.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with key partners in the industry.
• 8+ years of experience in a Sales Role with high levels of independence, or equivalent experience in the industry
• Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible while maintaining budgets; aggressive “hunter” approach to sales while translating the fun and uniqueness of the BNW brand to clients and prospects
• Experience in a B2B sales environment or equivalent experience in the event planning industry.
• Knowledge of the event planning process
• Excellent computer skills required, including Microsoft Office suite and CRM/database software. Experience with Salesforce CRM is highly desirable.
• Focus on customer service and the overall satisfaction of our clients, with the understanding that most of the business will be from key players in a repeat customer environment.
• Sense of humor and ability to thrive in an informal, non-traditional work environment.

Other responsibilities and functions beyond those described above may be included as well.
Primary work hours will take place during the standard work day, Monday through Friday, but attendance at events when necessary will require a combination of night and weekend hours with weekday hours.

Starting Salary/Probationary Employment Period:
The Event Services Sales Manager base salary and commission plan will be dependent on experience.
The Event Services Sales Manager will be expected to complete a probationary period with a check in/review scheduled after 90 days of employment. Upon successful completion of the probationary period you will become eligible for the standard employee benefits.
