Job Overview
The Brave New Workshop comedy theatre is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic part-time employee to facilitate the highest of customer service in a fast-paced, fun and relaxed environment. The Brave New Workshop is looking to add a new Box Office staff lead to our tight knit Front of House Team who will exemplify the great customer service that a comedy landmark such as the Brave New Workshop has come to be known for over the past 50 years.
Primary Job Duties
• Act as the night-time liaison between the Box Office Staff and the Box Office Manager providing a consistent and clean transfer from day-time box office into night-time box office duties
• Act as the Lead Box Officer and oversee patron questions or issues
• Trouble shoot any technical difficulties that may arise with the ticketing system
• Work as a team lead and supervise other employees to create a great customer experience from the first moment patrons enter the theatre to the moment they leave
• Sell tickets, process orders; answer customer questions via phone and in-person
• Print will-call ticket orders
• Process phone and walk-up orders for gift certificates, punch passes, and merchandise
• General receptionist and clerical duties
• Meet/greet guests in lobby and theater areas as needed
• Direct audience members in a friendly and efficient manner
• Maintain a positive atmosphere and orderly work environment
• cross-train on ushering/concessions job roles as available for possible fill-in situations
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications or Requirements
Job Requirements
• A proven track record of excellent customer service
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of customers, clients, and co-workers
• Ability to give excellent customer experience to upwards of 800 patrons a night for anywhere from 5 to 20 performances a week
• Ability to present a polite, professional, and upbeat demeanor both in person and over the phone.
• Available to work nights and weekends on a consistent basis is a MUST!
• Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook is a plus
• Prior experience with online ticketing software is preferred
• Flexibility, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task
• Box office and/or ushering experience a plus
• Ability to stay calm, polite and friendly in difficult situations and under pressure
