Every once in a while, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the Brave New Workshop decides to add new talent to its ranks. And this time, there are two different opportunities for actors!
Starting on Tuesday, September 3, you can sign up to audition for both the Brave New Workshop Mainstage Players and the new Student Union Players performance group.
Auditions will take place on
Saturday, September 7 (10am-3pm) and
Sunday, September 8 (noon-3pm) at the Brave New Workshop Student Union, 2605 Hennepin Ave S, Uptown Minneapolis
What to prepare:
A one-minute comedic monologue: This can be original or created from a non-traditional source (magazine, blog, newspaper, etc.)
*Improvisation and sketch writing experience appreciated but not necessary. There will be no improvisation at the initial auditions.*
What to bring:
A theatrical headshot and resume

More about the Student Union Players:
The Student Union Players are a new development at the BNW, where a company of sketch performers and improvisers will receive training and performance opportunities with the Brave New Workshop Theatre as well as create and perform one or more Sketch Comedy productions on the Student Union stage. Performers will be paid for their work in the Student Union productions.
This company is a joint endeavor between the Student Union and Brave New Workshop Theatre. The goal is to strengthen the relationship between Student Union students and alumni and the Brave New Workshop performing company by providing training and performance opportunities to Student Union students and other qualified performers specific to the needs and demands of working professionally on the Brave New Workshop main stage.
