For students ages 13-18 we are offering five weeks of teen improv camps, each with varying skill-based curriculums. For the first time improvisor, have no fear! All these different camps will start with the basics.
- Introduction– In this camp, students will spend the week learning improv from the ground up. This is the perfect session for any student who has been curious about improv and is looking to really give it a try. By the end of this camp students will be participating in scenes and getting their feet wet in long form improv.
- Story– This is the perfect camp for students who want to work towards generating richer stories in their scene work. The week will start by refreshing you on corner stones of improv, then diving head first into story specific work. Students will learn all about story telling tools, and how to put those into practice on and off-stage.
- Characters– From the Queen of England, to a nosey neighbor, there is no telling what characters may show up on stage! In this camp, students will get a chance to explore what it is that makes a character interesting and how to bring that character to life. Starting from the basics, this camp will stretch student’s creative muscles to generate new and exciting characters.
- Long Form Structures– This is the perfect camp for seasoned improvisors who want to really jump into the improv catacombs. There are over 100 long form structures in existence today, and this camp will be all about dissecting some of the most popular structures.
