Creative Safety

Improvisation is a creative process that demands an open mind, a supportive atmosphere and a commitment to “acceptance of ideas.” To ensure success for each of our students, we create a playful environment and a ‘creative gymnasium’ that is totally safe and supportive for everyone that attends our classes.

Our Instructors

Each of the Student Union instructors has years of professional improv and teaching experience. Each instructor has a life-long love of this art form and strives to help each individual student find their creative gifts.

Critical Mass

With 250 students coming through our doors each week, you will have the opportunity to meet others like yourself or unlike yourself. This leads to great networking and a place to meet others with whom you may perform.

Our History

The Student Union is the educational arm of the Brave New Workshop, the nation's oldest satirical sketch comedy and improvisational theater.

Class Offerings

From Everyday Improv to the Performance Track, our youth program to our seniors classes, our community outreach workshops to our graduate classes, we offer classes that meet every student's needs, reaffirming our belief that anyone can improvise – they simply need a place to play.
