Fall Show 2001 Final Release

Brave New Workshop Illuminates Sex and Relationships in
"Sex in the Cities: The Edina Monologues "

Minneapolis, Minn, July 19, 2001.---The Brave New Workshop Theatre (BNW), founded by Dudley Riggs in 1958, is seeking u 4 fun! In announcing our 236th comedy revue, titled Sex in the Cities: The Edina Monologues, BNW reserves the right to intensify our descriptions ever so slightly in order to whet the appetite. The show will rage with desire August 23-25, open August 30 and come to an abrupt halt November 10.

The currently running production, Minnesota Summer plays through Saturday, August 18, 2001. Sex in the Cities: The Edina Monologues explores the mysterious realm of love and other urban myths. In this stirring display, the BNW cast takes intimacy to new levels, from the sweet first kiss to the bitter, climactic end. Does the chance to laugh at the ludicrous things that love and lust make us do sound tempting? Perhaps you're aching to know why the word 'panty' is so creepy or if there is more to Robin than just Batman? Though the answers may not be reassuring, especially when explained by a comedy theatre with "positive neutrality" and "promiscuous hostility" as its mission, they're definitely hilarious. Come, get in the mood with the feel-good hit of the fall.

Sex in the Cities: The Edina Monologues is written and performed by cast members and veteran mainstage actors Dan Hetzel, Katy McEwen, Jim Robinson and Shanan Wexler, as well as newcomer Nick Knudson. Actor and audience and media favorite, Caleb McEwen directs. Peter Guertin is at the reins as music director and Chris Wexler as technical director.

Show times are Thursdays at 8 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Ticket prices are $14 on Thursday, $18 on Friday 7:30 p.m. show only, $16 on Friday 10 p.m. show only, $20 on Saturday 7:30 p.m. show only, and $18 on Saturday 10 p.m. show.
