Annual
Holiday Show 2001 First Release
Brave
New Workshop Cast Celebrates the Holidays with
NOG! A Brave New Christmakwanzukah
Minneapolis, Minn, October 15, 2001.---The Brave New Workshop
Theatre (BNW), founded by Dudley Riggs in 1958, is pleased to announce
our 237th comedy revue and annual holiday show, titled NOG! A Brave
New Christmakwanzukah. Continuing the tradition of celebrating
the best and worst of the holidays, Nog! previews November
15, opens November 21, and closes Sunday, January 6, 2002. The show
features the same talented cast of Sex in the Cities: The Edina
Monologues, which closes November 10.
NOG! A Brave New Christmakwanzukah is a naughty show for nice
people. Inspired by such holiday icons as Santa, Jesus, and Martha
Stewart, the Brave New Workshop unwraps with glee Santa's secret shame;
the truth behind Jesus, Mary, and Joseph (why doesn't Mary just come
clean?); and Martha Stewart (proving that a soul is not required for
network television). Unable to pass up true holiday gems like the
horror of office secret Santa's, New Year's resolutions, and the top
ten things you can't say at Christmastime, NOG! promises to
add just the right amount of salmonella to your season's celebrations.
Making merry on the main stage and fresh off the sexy fall show are
cast members Dan Hetzel, Nick Knudson, Katy McEwen, Jim Robinson and
Shanan Wexler. NOG! A Brave New Christmakwanzukah is directed
by Caleb McEwen, who undertakes his first holiday revue armed only
with figgy pudding and twinkling lights that don't twinkle. And, promising
the greatest music ever stole, Peter Guertin continues as musical
director. Show times for Nog! are Thursdays and Fridays at
8 p.m., Saturdays at 7:30 and 10 p.m., and Sundays at 7:00pm. Wednesday
shows are scheduled for December 12, 19, and 26 at 8:00pm. New Years
Eve shows are at 7:30 and 10pm. Ticket prices are $20 on these three
Wednesdays, $20 on Thursday, $22 on Friday, $25 on Saturday for both
shows, and $20 on Sunday. New Years Eve prices are $30 in advance,
$35 at the door. No shows are scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas
Eve, or Christmas Day. Call (612) 332-6620 for reservations or visit
us online at www.BraveNewWorkshop.com.
The Brave
New Workshop Theatre, founded by Dudley Riggs in 1958, is the longest
running satirical comedy theatre in the country, and the third oldest
theatre of any kind in the Twin Cities. The BNW has exposed more than
three million people to its world famous satirical comedy and improvisation
through main stage shows, the Brave New Institute (BNW's improv training
school), corporate training workshops, group entertainment, and the
ongoing Flanagan's Wake, an interactive Irish comedy, playing at the
St. Paul Palace Theatre.
