Helena residents have a new retail anchor in the famous New York Block on Last Chance Gulch. 

Jill Roberts and Colleen Casey, co-owners of The Hawthorn Bottle Shop and Tasting Room, took a few minutes to talk with us about using Bridger Steel interior panels on their impressive main bar.

“We were looking for something a little bit urban-industrial,” said Roberts. The building once housed Fligelman’s Department store in the early 1920s.  More recently the space was used by the State of Montana for offices. Converting the cubicle filled space into a modern wine bar was no easy task. 

They went to Bridger Steel in East Helena and had no trouble coming up with styles and looks that matched their design goals. 

They chose Bridger Steel’s Ultra Batten wall profile with a custom Midnight Snow finish, also done by Bridger Steel. 

The panels are featured all along the main bar and a front counter.
