Truten™A606 is one of the most sought after finishes for Rustic, residential and mountain building projects. Similar to traditional Cor-ten steel, Truten™A606 is coated with our trademarked blend of Copper, Phosphorus and Silicon to form a fine textured oxide surface film on the panel. When exposed to the elements the top layer will eventually weather into a unique rust color. The color will be unique to your project, depending on the exposure, environment, and weather patterns. This coating is incredibly resistant to corrosion caused by weather and atmospheric conditions and outperforms carbon steels which often display a coarse, flaky oxide.
TRUTEN™ A606 has a dark gray appearance in the shop and comes coated in a light oil to prevent premature rusting. Once the oil coating rinses off, your roof will begin to rust naturally.
Yes. Many of our customers rust the panels until they reach shade they like and use it for interior accents. We can suggest some Pre-rusting formulas to apply to pre-rust the panels within hours or days. We'll provide our preferred recipe and instructions that should be completed in a well ventilated area.
Climate, pitch and maintenance all play a part in how long your roof will last. Dry climates experience the longest lifespans. Wet climates require additional preparations like installing a high quality underlayment to offer superior protection for your roof.
Although there is no warranty on TRUTEN™ A606 roofing, our trademarked blend of metals in our TRUTEN™ products are designed to stand up to mother nature for superior protection and resistance to corrosion for years beyond what a typical asphalt roof would provide.
Keeping debris off your roof and away from siding is important but there are a few more things we'd like to share so you can get the longest life out of your TRUTEN™ roof. Learn more about caring for your TRUTEN™ roof.
