Basic requirements for hire:
· You must be able to work every Friday and Saturday night, as well as some weeknights and some Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
· You must be able to get to both of our theater locations (via car, bus, carpool, etc.) All employees will be working equal time at our Minneapolis and St. Paul theaters.
· Able to be an ambiant character while on the job at our St. Paul theater. This includes (but is not limited to) having a MN accent, knowing some Ole/Lena jokes, knowing your character details and those of all other characters, and never breaking character from the moment you arrive to the moment the last customer leaves.
· You must be willing to commit 100% to giving exceptional customer service and anticipating customer needs!

· You must be reliable and committed to working here for at least 6 months.

Bartender (Palace Theatre)
Duties:

  • Sets up and restocks fixed, mobile bars with beverages, ice, towels and various food and beverage items and related supplies; stocks and replenishes bars and bar bins as necessary
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of all bars and ensures bars are in proper working condition; cleans bars as necessary; ensures that the soda tanks are married
  • Conducts clean-up, storing of products and supplies, returning of mobile bars and related duties at end of the shift; reports equipment repair needs to supervisor
  • Maintains cleanliness of storage areas; removes trash and recycling to appropriate location
  • Accurately and efficiently fills orders for customers requesting beverages
  • Suggestively sells products, provides information about other activities within the theatre
  • Consistently displays a positive attitude towards customers, co-workers, supervisors, staff and show-related personnel
  • Maintains an acceptable liquor pouring percentage, according to policy; Monitors patrons and ensures compliance with applicable liquor laws. Knowledgeable of liquor and gambling laws. If necessary, processes winnings of charitable gambling operations within the premises, in accordance with policies and applicable laws.
  • Handles cash according to policy; charges customers accurately for purchases and correctly provides change
  • Accurately balances cash and credit card transactions to cash register reports and prepares deposits and change orders for bar operations.
  • Assists supervisor with cleaning and organizing of liquor cabinets
  • Accurately inventories and recommends weekly order amounts for beer, liquor, soda, and other perishable and non-perishable bar supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or anticipated to ensure a quality customer experience.
  • Attends the Brave New Workshop's Minneapolis productions as schedule allows (ie. previews, off-schedule performances) to ensure comprehensive understanding and appreciation of the entire company.

Customer Service Intern

The Brave New Workshop is seeking a committed, enthusiastic person for an unpaid box office, marketing, and customer service internship, starting this fall. Responsibility level commensurate with experience; true to all theater jobs, you must be someone who is willing to roll up your sleeves and do anything. This is a great way to build your resume and get an industry reference. It's also an incredibly fun and flexible place to work - we have lots of parties and appreciate our staff!

Qualifications:

-currently enrolled in or graduated from college
-strong computer and Internet skills (MS Word, Excel or any database software experience, etc.)
-able to commit and work at least 15 hour/week through the end of December
-ability to work independently
-ability to thoroughly research problems and create solutions
-understanding of exceptional customer service
