Brave New Workshop Named the Exclusive Improvisational
Comedy Provider for the Disney Cruise Line
The Brave New Workshop has partnered with Disney Cruise Line to create the first improvisational comedy club at sea. The Disney Cruise Line selected the Workshop, the oldest ongoing satirical comedy theatre in the nation, for its new cruise line. When the first ship, the Disney Magic, sets sail in the spring of 1998, adults will be introduced to Off Beat, the cruise line industry's first on-board improvisation comedy club, and a show written, directed and performed by the Brave New Worskhop. The Brave New Workshop will be hiring and training actors, as well as directing the shows as it fulfills its long term contract. We are pleased to announce the inaugural cast for the Off Beat Comedy Club. They include: Jennifer Bascom (New York City), Tom Gibis (Los Angeles & BNW alumnus), Phil Lusardi (Chicago), Melissa Peterman (Minneapolis & BNW resident company), Dane Stauffer (Minneapolis & BNW alumnus), Michale Warren (Minneapolis), Megan Whyte (Orlando). The first ship, the Disney Magic, is the first ship built by the dreammakers of Disney. The ship is designed for an adult or family experience. The Off Beat Comedy Club is one of the key venues in the Beat Street nighttime entertainment district on the ship. The seven day Disney Cruise Line vacation package includes a three or four day cruise, and two ports of call, Port of Nassau in the Bahamas, and Castaway Cay, Disney's own private island. The second ship, the Disney Wonder, will set sail in late 1998. For more information click and go to the Disney Cruise Line web site at www.disney.com/DisneyCruise/. BNW home page |
