“Laugh and Learn” Team Building Workshops

The basic description of an improvisational scene is: a group of individuals listening to their customers and instantly creating an interesting, engaging product, while in the spotlight. Improvisers are able to collaborate and innovate so rapidly because they abide by certain behaviors and cultural norms. In this session BNW facilitators share some of the key behaviors, demonstrate them in action through live improv demonstrations and allow participants to practice them first hand. Our facilitators create a safe environment of active participation, fun of on-your-feet learning, laughter and discussion. The goal of the session is to facilitate the connection between how the behaviors participants practice can increase their productivity at work, and help them be better collaborators and communicators. The session format is modular and can typically accommodate varying sizes of groups (10-50) and can last from 60 minutes to 3 hours.

Extended Training: Open Gyms

How often are you able to practice new behavioral skills that are crucial for your job? What if you had a chance to practice innovation, communication, presentation, creativity and collaboration skills in an immersive, practical way? Envision a supportive environment where you can practice, without distraction and without fear of consequence. And what if you paired that learning with fun and laughter? You can do all that via OPEN Gym, BNW’s series of workout sessions, which can be hosted on your corporate campus and taught by BNW master facilitators or your internal BNW-certified trainers.

Mobile Learning: Open Gym App

We have designed a simple way for learners to practice key behaviors on their own time, but with the support and accountability of a team. The OPEN Gym App provides additional learning, energizers and inspirational messages via video vignettes from BNW’s facilitators and most importantly, practical assignments and challenges, which learners have to accomplish periodically. The challenges are simple tasks related to the learning and require the learners to video record themselves delivering various content pieces with their mobile devices. Their recordings can then be submitted for feedback to their team and/or their leader/coach. Learners receive various points and “awards” for completing their assignments, sharing feedback etc. The app is downloadable for free where apps are available and users enter their usernames and passwords provided by the BNW to access the content.
