Congrats to the Tia Foundation for Being Named a Finalist in Secretary Clinton's Innovation Award!

Congratulations to our friends at the Tia Foundation for being named one of fifteen finalists in Secretary Clinton's Innovation Award for the Empowerment of Women and Girls. Two organizations will be selected in the final round to receive an award of up to $500,000 and we sure hope they win!

The Tia Foundation is a small, Arizona-based NGO dedicated to driving sustainable health solutions in rural Mexico. The group endeavors to provide health-related development strategies by sharing their experience, resources and knowledge with villagers as a means to help them do for themselves. In addressing long-term village health, the organization trains local health care workers and gives them the essential tools necessary to treat common illnesses and injuries. They are simply fantastic. For more information, please visit their website at http://www.tiafoundation.org.

The Secretary’s Innovation Award for the Empowerment of Women and Girls seeks to find and bring to scale the most pioneering approaches to the political, economic and social empowerment of women and girls around the globe. Founded on the premise that the major economic, security, governance and environmental challenges of our time cannot be solved without the full participation of women at all levels of society, this award supports the Department of State’s commitment to the advancement of women globally.
