Whether you've never taken a musical improv class in your life or are an advanced improv songster, this workshop is for you. This class covers melody, lyrics and song forms, as well as some short form musical improv styles. No singing experience required. Taught by Nancy Howland Walker, creator of MUSICAL! the musical, and often named the premiere musical improv teacher in the country! (All levels)

Nancy Howland Walker has been professionally performing, teaching, and directing improv since 1989. She was the Artistic Director of ImprovBoston (New England's longest running comedy troupe), The Next ImprovBoston, Picture This!, and TheatreSports of Massachusetts. In Chicago, she has performed with The Free Associates in the heralded improv shows Cast on A Hot Tin Roof, As We Like It, Pick-a-Dick, BS., Divamatic, and The Greatest Story Never Told. Nancy was head of the ImprovBoston and Free Associates improv schools, and currently teaches at Players Workshop and at festivals and for groups all across the country. She is the creator, producer, director, and a performer in Chicago's critically acclaimed MUSICAL! the musical, the first completely improvised two-act modern Broadway style musical which has also enjoyed successful separate runs in Boston and Nashville. Nancy writes and performs nationally with Chicago Comedy Company, and writes, performs, and casts virtual reality theaters internationally for Ham On Rye Technologies. She is proud to have been one of six Americans sent to France for the last World Cup playoffs of the international Improvisational Theatre League, and one of eight improvisers representing the United States for the 2000 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Intro to Acting Fundamentals

Dates To Be Announced...Please Check www.bvocal.net for the latest information and to register for any of Cheryl's Classes

If you're new to the acting biz, just getting your feet wet (or are an improviser trying to branch out to get more acting gigs), this class is the perfect place to start. . . and I highly recommend this valuable class as an inexpensive way to:
· Start your acting career on the right foot
· Meet others in the Twin Cities acting circles
· Work with two of the best teachers in the Twin Cities

Cheryl and Beth have a master plan to give you the inside scoop. In a largely lecture/demonstration format that includes some plunge-in exercises, you'll find out: What a “trained actor” does that we don’t see in the final performance. What training every actor needs and why, and how to get it for yourself. Get your feet wet in this introductory class designed to point you in the right direction as you begin, or seek more training for, the actor's journey. This class may be taken alone, for anyone interested in the art of acting, or as part of your Acting Fundamentals Level One class.
