The Brave New Workshop will never be a place that sits still. That’s the nature of improvisation. Our brains are always working. Thinking about the next show, the next presentation or the next big thing. And as you can imagine, that means we’re always coming up with new stuff. Good stuff. Funny stuff. And that’s what you’ll find here: improvisation videos, photos, news and miscellaneous stuff—like a bust of John Sweeney made out of real cheese. Which we probably should have kept in a refrigerator…

Dudley: Rigged for Laughter! is a laugh-out-loud look at the life of the legendary comedy impresario Dudley Riggs, a fourth-generation circus kid who grew up to found the Brave New Workshop. Performed in the rich comic style of the BNW and delightfully driven by a circus-like parade of zany characters, music, and big-top laughter, this is one sketch comedy show you won't want to miss.

We hope you will join us in honoring Dudley and his legacy as we celebrate the opening of our new theatre!

Excerpt, CharlotteObserver.com, July 22, 2011:

Dudley Riggs: A laughable legacy
The Twin Cities -- Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn. -- are a hotbed of humor thanks in large part to Dudley Riggs, the circus-man-turned-satirist whose Brave New Workshop launched many comedians' careers.

"It's difficult to imagine Dudley Riggs without a wry smile parked above a bow-tie: Both have been part of his image in the Twin Cities for more than half a century, and were incorporated for decades into the signage at the Brave New Workshop he founded.

Standing out in a crowd is part of the comedy business, where he thrived in the backwaters of the republic and nurtured the careers of many humorous individuals."
